Carmel Amit

Carmel is a bold, intuitive artist who grew up at the crossroads of creativity and innovation—her mother a textile artist, her father a robotics engineer. That mix of tactile expression and technical thinking shaped her approach to performance and coaching. Born in Israel, and raised in Canada and Australia, Carmel brings global perspective, deep empathy, and an unshakable belief in the power of telling the truth on camera.

She trained at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and has continued to study various performance modalities, from classical theatre to embodied practices. Carmel brings a director’s eye and an actor’s heart to her coaching, aiming to help performers unlock something honest and specific within themselves.

Carmel has worked with directors like Ang Lee, Peter Farrelly, and Ozgood Perkins, and shared the screen with actors like Nicolas Cage, Vincent D’Onofrio and Josh Duhamel.

Carmel’s coaching is grounded in curiosity and collaboration. She creates space for actors to breathe, play, and discover—not just the character, but something new within themselves. Her motto: “Move toward the things that scare you. They hold the potential for immense growth.”

David Attar

Raised around a loud and boisterous Moroccan table, David learned early on that storytelling was a way of life. Bold voices, big characters, rhythm, and timing were part of the daily language—and that spirited upbringing still fuels his passion for performance today.

David trained in New York City at the legendary Neighborhood Playhouse, home of the Meisner technique, and later earned a screenwriting degree from Vancouver Film School. He brings a writer’s eye, an actor’s instinct, and a coach’s clarity to every session.

As a performer, he’s appeared in The Good DoctorRiverdaleTravelers, and Wild Cards, and voiced characters in major games like Starfield and Warframe. He’s also produced and directed over 50 custom voice demos for actors across North America.

David’s coaching philosophy is simple: less is more. He encourages actors to return to the basics—breathe, listen, and trust the moment. Whether on-camera or behind the mic, his sessions are grounded in presence, connection, and playful discovery.

Trista Peterson

Trista grew up on a farm in northern Alberta, where responsibility came early and laughter was a way of life. Raised on Monty Python, Saturday Night Live, and radio comedy in the truck with her dad, she developed a love for bold, lovable characters and the power of a well-timed joke.

She trained in improv and sketch with Grindstone Theatre, Montreal Improv, Instant Theatre, Vinny Francois, and Kevin McDonald of Kids in the Hall. Trista performs in festivals across Canada and starred in hit shows like Bridgerton: Improvised, Ruby Rocket, Private Eye, and the original spy comedy Collective Agreement. She’s a core member of Instant Theatre and the Spontaneous Shakespeare Company.

Her improv style is energetic, grounded, and character-driven, with a gift for creating connection on stage. She’s also the co-founder of Craft & Bone Theatre Collective, a company focused on immersive, minimalist work debuting at this year’s Vancouver Fringe.

As a coach, Trista encourages students to ditch perfection and lean into presence. Her philosophy? Trust your instincts, follow the fun, and let the truth do the heavy lifting. She’s taught everyone from five-year-olds to CEOs—and she truly believes improv is for everyone.
